City of Kouvola - multifunction printer

The City of Kouvola's print service unit prints large amounts of, among other things, construction drawings and contract tenders. In addition, they offer their customers a scanning service for archives and old drawings, as well as copying.

As customers, the printing unit includes the city's space services, investment projects, housing companies, property managers, building architects and private builders.

Since 2009, the printing unit has had an Océ TDS700 multifunction printer with an inline folding machine and scanner. The machine's maintenance contract was interrupted and the machine could no longer be upgraded, so the printing unit began mapping out replacement hardware.

Alternatives that met all criteria were found only in Océ and Rowe. “We chose Roween because we were convinced of Rowe’s features after seeing the machine live in Germany,” says the print service Helena Kahila. “We saw how the machine is made and how it works. The overall quality impression of the production and machines at the Rowe plant convinced us once and for all, ”Kahila continues.

The purchased multifunction printer is equipped with an 8m / min ROWE ecoPrint i8L printer with six automatic rollers, an automatic ROWEFOLD 721-4 in-line folding machine with a back unit and a two-level sorter, and a 44 "wide ROWE 650i HA scanner that can scan up to 30 mm thick documents.

Padasjoki municipality - large format scanner

The technical work of the municipality of Padasjoki started a large-scale digitization project, in which the aim is to compile the maintenance history of the municipality's properties and the old building drawings with their changes into one entity.

The municipality of Padasjoki ended up acquiring for the project Floorstand model of the 44 ”wide ROWE Scan 450i scanner, which was assembled and pre-installed on site. The machine was immediately ready for use.

“We needed an easy-to-use scanner for digitization that makes the scanning process as automated as possible, says Lauri Pasanen, building inspector of Padasjoki municipality. “At first glance, the Rowen scanner is easy to use and the image quality is good,” Pasanen continues.

The features of the ROWE Scan 450i scanner speed up your work, as the software automatically rotates the image in the right direction, crop it and corrects skew. In addition, automatic image enhancement, fader fading, and yellowed background whitening improve the quality of stored documents.

“We mapped out different scanner options online and Rowe’s features seemed to best serve our needs. The device will serve first in this project and then in other projects in the municipality as well as in general use. The scanner will be used by more than one person, so ease of use was paramount in the selection criteria, ”adds Pasanen.

UMP Kymmene - large format folding machine

UPM Kymmene Tervasaari's design department uses a large-format folding machine to fold technical drawings and factory process diagrams.

“If there are changes in the paper mill’s processes, we will print and fold the drawings for the mill installers or subcontractors,” says Ari Väisänen Mechanical designer at UPM Kymmene Tervasaari plant.

“Often our technical drawings are in A4-A0 format, but for example, the process diagrams of a paper machine can be up to 16 meters long,” Väisänen continues.

“Our old folding machine had already served its time and we were looking for different suppliers online, but we could not find other alternatives that would have met our needs, ie the folding possibility of more than 4 m,” adds Väisänen.

Brand Factory wanted to replace its old 115 cm and 168 cm guillotines at its Espoo production plant with new cutters of the same format. The cutters came mainly from label production and the cutting of PVC plastic, as well as the sheeting and cutting of advertising cardboard and various cardboard.

Anyway, Perfecta is really easy to use, accurate and fast, ” says Kurt Palmroos, user of Brand Factory's Perfecta 115 TS mower. “In a long series, the press automat works well, so in different situations the automatics give a different press force,” Palmroos continues. “The flat cutting table makes it easier to handle the sheets and the fully automatic cutting of 3mm PVC is absolutely brilliant,” concludes Palmroos.

Picaset has two Xerox C1000 machines and a Canon 7000 as four-color digital printing machines, as well as Xerox MV machines. Picaset mainly uses Horizon machines for finishing and the Grafcut 73H and Perfecta 76 TSE are the cutters.
